Marriott St Pierre professional Craig Dun and his captain Eric Brown booked a place at the Gulf Air International Pro-Captain Challenge, supported by BMW, in Bahrain after winning the West Region qualifier on countback.
The pair shot a six-under-par 65 at Cumberwell Park near Bath to tie with Royal North Devon's Michael Wilson and Paul Griffin, but had a better back nine to clinch first place.
Caerphilly's James Lee and Kevin Tolley finished third with a 66.
Dun and Brown were first out and endured a nervous wait to see whether their score was good enough to qualify for the luxury trip to the Middle East at the end of the year, during which they will play the 36-hole final at the The Royal Golf Club in Bahrain and stay in a five star hotel.
"We were out first so we had a long wait this afternoon and lots of cups of tea," said a delighted Dun.
"We played really well and recovered brilliantly from a poor start. We bogeyed the first two holes but brought it back to one under at the turn, so on the back nine we were five under. Eric shot two birdies and I got three.
"I've been narrowly beaten a couple of times before in this qualifying so it is nice to finally to be playing in the finals.
"Neither Eric or I have been to Bahrain before so we're really looking forward to it. It should be a great trip away."
