Hugh Jackson is warming up for the PGA Super 60's Tournament near Scunthorpe hoping that the luck of the Irish will be on his side.
Padraig Harrington's double major success has been at the forefront of a fantastic year in golf for those from the Emerald Isle, and now Jackson wants to get in on the act.
Jackson will pair up with amateur Jimmy Clinch for the betterball event, which is played over 36 holes at the Forest Pines Golf Club in Lincolnshire, starting August 27.
"I'm playing okay," said Jackson.
"I've only played a couple of Pro-Ams this season and I finished down the field but we'll see.
"I'm playing with Jimmy Clinch - a two handicapper - and he's a good player. We're hoping to do well."
Jackson and Clinch have a good record in the event, which sees one amateur and one professional on each team, with all the competitors being over 60.
The event provides an opportunity to catch up with old friends and rivals as well as play some tournament golf, with £10,000 prize money on offer.
And the Donabate player is confident he and Clinch can get their hands on a share of the prize.
"We finished third two years ago and 10th last year, so we can do okay," added Jackson.
"It's a good course, a course for accuracy and length."
Jackson knows where he needs to improve if he's to add his name to the list of winners in the Super 60's though, joining former winners and ex-Ryder Cup players Lionel Platts and Bernard Hunt.
"I'm just trying to sharpen up round the greens," he continued.
"The Irish have been cleaning up, even on the Challenge Tour and European Tour.
"There have been a lot of Irish winners this year, so I'll be trying to keep the winning streak going."
